For all of those who are wondering about the six lovely "girls" that remain...they are doing fine and seem to be happy and healthy. For a week or so after the loss of their sister hen, they seemed quiet and sad, staying near the henhouse and refraining from their normal daily clucking and fussing. While they aren't nearly as "vocal" as before, they seem to be getting back into a routine of visiting me at the screen door of the sunroom and following me around the yard. Thanks to you all for your thoughts and kind words after the sudden loss of my hen. It means the world to me to have such a connected and diverse "virtual" extended family here at TBA.com.
