The Windy City
I made my first trip to Chicago last Wednesday to attend a Summer Learning conference hosted by Johns Hopkins University School of Education. I was blessed with glorious weather - sunny, not a cloud in the sky, 65 degrees. I managed to snap some pictures one afternoon and thought I'd share them. Chicago has some amazing architecture and I loved walking in Millennium Park along Lake Michigan. While my trip to Chicago was cut short, I am grateful to have had some time to walk around there and experience the visual beauty of the Windy City.
On Friday night, I went to Schubas to see Vienna Teng and Ben Sollee. It was an amazing show in an intimate little venue. I fell in love with Ben Sollee. His voice is reminiscent of Amos Lee/Gavin DeGraw and he plays a cello with an interesting percussive vibe. He's 24 years old and you won't be disappointed - go check him out. Listen to How to Watch the Sun Rise and Panning for Gold...
Off to enjoy a "day of rest" after what has been an eternity of a weekend.
