My mind has been wandering - not unusual for a gal like me.

Today I have been thinking about sayings....things my relatives say or have said.

For example:

"A fer piece" = a long way

"Fair to middlin" = so/so

"I'll be there directly" = will be arriving soon

"and all that there" = and so on and so forth

"get your butt off your shoulders" = Stop pouting/Get over it

Are these saying familiar to any of you? Do you have your own regional sayings? I'd love to hear about them.
